Can you legally drive in Japan?
This is the most important step. Japan does not accept digital licenses or photos — you must carry the correct physical documents.
Requirements depend on the country that issued your license. Some drivers need an International Driving Permit (IDP); others need an official Japanese translation of their license.
Please confirm your exact requirements before booking:

If you arrive without the correct documents, we are unable to hand over the car, and only 50% of your payment can be refunded.

Pickup, return & free transfers
We offer free transfers to and from Kawaguchiko Station.
Hotel transfers are also available — free within our local zone.
You'll be asked about transfers during booking, so please have your hotel name ready if you need one.

Please return the car to the same location by the end of your rental period.

Costs that may apply
Your rate already includes full comprehensive insurance. The following are charged separately only if they apply:

Fuel: Return the car with a full tank. If not, the shortfall is calculated from the fuel gauge and charged at a rate higher than a normal gas station.

Non-Operation Charge (NOC), in case of accident or damage:

¥20,000 if the car can still be driven back to us

¥50,000 if the car needs towing
